As former small eCommerce merchants, we started Shypyard because we were frustrated that SMBs can’t afford the planning solutions used by large companies. As a result, these entrepreneurs struggle to accurately forecast and plan for future growth, leading to whipsaw performance that places the business in financial jeopardy. By empowering SMBs with the right tools to grow and thrive, we hope to positively impact the world economy.
🏗 What are we building?
Today, we create the best forecasting and planning systems for SMB brands to monitor and understand their sales and operations, so they can save time, money and confidently make decisions to hit their financial objectives.
After encountering these problems first-hand in eCommerce, we’ve assembled a team that is bringing their experience from places like Shopify, Facebook, BCG, and Harvard to scale the solution in software. We’ve teamed up with world-class investors, advisors, and industry leaders from Shopify, BigCommerce, and SnapCommerce to build new technology that shifts the paradigm of commerce.
We recently raised our first institutional round backed by top VCs, led by Gradient Ventures, Google’s AI fund, with backing from industry leaders in eCommerce.
About the Role
As a Sales Development Rep, your main goals are to collaborate with our CEO and Head of Product to identify important business opportunities for Company. Using outreach emails, phone calls, and social media, you will connect with these targeted contacts using the best possible messaging. You’ll be the dominant driver of revenue growth and a brand ambassador acting as the foundational entry-point for our customers. We're still a young team, so each member plays an integral role in building the foundation of our future sales organization. This is a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals of sales and work with a product-centric team.
Responsibilities
Develop and update client leads list
Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound communications
Provide a phenomenal customer experience for Company’s prospective customers
Accurately enter, update, and maintain daily activity and prospect information into the CRM
Conduct qualification meetings with new customers
Experiment with outbound channels, customer targeting, messaging and sales processes to help write the future Company Sales playbook
Communicate high-priority product gaps identified through the sales process with the product team
Analyze sales data and recommend new outreach strategies
Basic Requirements
1 year of experience in sales development or related roles, and interest in growing into an AE
Passion for technology and an ability to speak knowledgeably with eCommerce businesses
Excellent writing skills with attention to grammar and tone
Clear communication, a deep sense of customer empathy, and a commitment to integrity and service
A commitment to learning, being adaptable, and having a GREAT ATTITUDE
Excellent organization and written communication skills, crucial for collaborating in a hybrid remote setting
Product-minded, interested in B2B eCommerce products
Preferred Requirements
Hubspot and Apollo experience preferred but not required
Understanding of how early-stage startups work is a bonus but not required
Experience selling to omni-channel SMB merchants is a bonus, but not required
